"Hi everyone! Just wanted to share with you my Makako project build. It took me a while to finish these as we needed to relocate to a new house. The speakers have been playing for about 7 months now and I opted to build both crossover options for the project. Here are some pics: My system, everything is DIY except for the DAC.
I would personally like to thank Carmelo Facecchia and Diego Sartori for creating this project and sharing it with the world. Thanks also to everyone who answered my questions here (forum CHF).
Really happy how these speakers turned out. I love how they sound.
Both crossovers have their own character and it's literally like having 2 speakers in one. The first order filter shines with very good recordings, I have a lot of dsd files ripped from my SACD collection and I am very familiar with those music materials. There's something captivating about the simplicity of first order filter. The second order filter has better separation of instruments and a better all-rounder. I am now listening more with the second order filter and switch to first order from time to time." |
